[A] ADVANCED Member when CPCA 5 Year or CPCA 10 Year CERTIFIED.
[S] SUSTAINING MEMBER until [A] CPCA Advanced Member status.
[M] MEMBER until [S] SUSTAINING MEMBER
[AF] AFFILIATE Member until achieving [M] Member status.

The Council of Private Colleges of America welcomes institutions to consider the benefits of membership. The purpose and mission of the CPCA is, “Preventative and Proactive Protection of Today’s Private Faith Based Colleges for Tomorrow’s Students,” by serving private, degree granting, faith based institutions that provide academic excellence standards in education. The CPCA has a proven track record that promotes “Keeping the Lord’s testimony above reproach,”, and “United We Stand, Divided Individually We Can Be Conquered.” The CPCA is for faith-based institutions that offer instruction in any US State or Territory , and internationally where verifiable. Membership approval is determined by an action of the Executive Committee of the CPCA.

CPCA ADVANCED [A] and CPCA SUSTAINING MEMBER [S]

The CPCA Advanced Member [A] is a CPCA 10 Year CERTIFIED [A] or CPCA 5 Year CERTIFIED [A]
The CPCA Sustaining Member [S] is a CPCA CANDIDATE [S] or CPCA APPLICANT [S] have achieved their respective CPCA Certification requirements at www.cpca-edu.org which include:

  1. not taking government funds in the USA excluding: a) VA benefits in the USA , or b) have USDE recognized accreditation.
  2. having a physical presence and are either/or;
    a) incorporated or,
    b) a ministry of an incorporated en ty or,
    c) in the USA under a church with IRS le er recognizing them as a church for contribu ons or, d) licensed or,
    e) exempt from licensure or,
    f) CPCA Advanced Member [A] with USDE recognized accreditation.
  3. are in compliance with the standards, requirements, and fees of the CPCA at www.cpca-edu.us,

CPCA MEMBER [M]

has achieved their CPCA Member [M] requirements at www.cpca-edu.org which include:

  1. not taking government funds in the USA excluding:
    a) VA benefits in the USA , or
    b) have USDE recognized accreditation.
  2. having a physical presence and are either/or;
    a) incorporated or,
    b) a ministry of an incorporated en ty or,
    c) in the USA under a church with IRS letter recognizing them as a church for contributions or, d) licensed or,
    e) exempt from licensure.
  3. are in compliance with the standards, requirements, and fees of the CPCA at www.cpca-edu.us for CPCA Member [M]
  4. has advanced from CPCA Affiliate Member [AF] to either;
    a) enroll in the CPCA Sustaining Member [S] CPCA APPLICANT Certification process or,
    b) has not chosen to advance to the CPCA Sustaining Member [S] level but annually maintains their qualifications for the CPCA Member [M] status.

CPCA Affiliate Member [AF]

CPCA Affiliate membership is available to a prospective entry level private faith based institution of higher education within the scope of CPCA’s service, namely the United States with related territories, and internationally when verifiable, where:

  1. they or the CPCA has determined that the institution does not meet some or all of the CPCA Member [M] membership standards and requirements on www.cpca-edu.us.
  2. the institution has committed and stated its desire to be working toward qualifying for the CPCA standards of excellence on www.cpca-edu.us to qualify for CPCA Member [M] status.
  3. they are not taking government funds in the USA.
  4. they are working on having a physical presence and will be either/or of the following;
    a) incorporated or,
    b) a ministry of an incorporated entity or,
    c) in the USA under a church with IRS letter recognizing them as a church for contributions or, d) exempt from licensure or,
    e) licensed or
    f) qualified under a) to e) above when internationally verifiable.
  5. they conform to disclosure restrictions relative to USDE non-recognized accreditation.
  6. they are vouched for by a CPCA Certification [A], or [S], CPCA member institution.
  7. they will actively work to achieve compliance with the standards and fees of the CPCA at www.cpca-edu.us for CPCA Affiliate Member [AF] to become CPCA Member [M] status.
  8. CPCA Affiliate Member [AF] is not to be confused with CPCA Advanced Member [A}, CPCA Sustaining Member [S}, CPCA Member [M], CPCA certification, USDE accreditation or understood in any way to imply any of these.
